Mrs. Loretta Clara Miller passed away peacefully Monday evening October 22, 2012 at the Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities following a brief illness. Age 88 years. The daughter of the late Victor and Adeline (Wordelmann) Underwood was born on March 26, 1924 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. On May 17, 1947 she married her high school sweet heart Gerald H. Miller in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bay City where she was a member all of her life. Loretta retired from Dow Chemical Co. in Midland, Michigan where she took care of the payroll records for thirty years. Loretta loved to knit and made thousands of booties and mittens for children in the family and all over Bay County.
She is survived by her husband Gerald H. (Jerry) Miller and in May they celebrated sixty five years of marriage. She is also survived by two nephews and two nieces; Jack and wife Barbara Morisette of Bay City, Michigan, Sharon and husband Mike DeFrain of Foley, Alabama; Loretta Feret of Detroit, Michigan and Robert Cichocki of Greenbush, Michigan; one brother-in-law; Henry (Hank) and Wife Patricia Miller and seven great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother; Henry Underwood, two sisters; Alma Cichocki and Leona Morisette.
Funeral and Committal Services will take place Friday October 26, 2012 at 12:00 O'Clock Noon at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.. Officiating will be Rev. Kevin C. Jones Pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services.
