Death date: her correct death date is still unclear (Dec 5,1925 or Jan 5,1926). Normally, a death certificate, being considered "official", is also considered to be the most correct for a death while the tombstone is generally considered most correct for birth dates. However in the case of this person the last digit in her year of death on her death certificate has been written/scratched over. In ALL fields it was originally written as 1926 but has been marked over with a "5" ... the exception is the date where the doctor signed his name has Jan 25, 1926 and the signature of the Register has Feb 8, 1926.
Since the calendar year had just rolled over from 1925 to 1926, was the doctor of record just mixed up on his dates? Personally I believe he was. IF this person died on Dec 5, 1925 and the doctor didn't fill out DC until Jan 25, 1926 it just seems like too long of a period of time between the events. And also since the tombstone was probably set by family who would/should know her dates, I am inclined to believe that the tombstone is correct and the DC is incorrect ... since the DC is obviously messed up it leaves room for doubt.
