At Nappanee, Feb 11th, Mrs Jacob Mellinger, aged 37 years and 11 months.
Mrs Susan Mellinger was born in Lancaster county, February 16th, 1850.
She was joined in marriage with Mr Jacob H Mellinger, September 7th, 1867, and in the following year she in company with her husband came to Elkhart county, Ind, where she resided up to the time of her death.
Some thirteen years ago through repentance toward God, and faith in Christ, she became a member of Christ's church. The day previous to her death, her husband asked her if she was afraid to die? She replied, "no, but I dread to leave the children."
The funeral services occurred in Nappanee, in the Dunkard church, conducted by Revs J Metzler and P J Kaufman, the interment taking place on Monday at the South Union cemetery.
She leaves a husband and five children, two daughters and three sons, to mourn.
Peace be to her ashes.
