Biography

William Hyde Talbott was born near Poolesville, this county, July 5, 1861, and was educated in the public schools and Columbian College at Washington. For three years he followed the grain commission business in Georgetown, after which, his father's health having failed, he returned home to assist in the management of the estate. At the same time he read law under the direction of his brother, H. Maurice, and was admitted to the bar. Afterwards he practiced the profession in Hagerstown from 1887 to 1891, when he formed a partnership with his brother in Rockville. He gives his attention principally to real-estate matters and conveyancing. Politically he is a Democrat, and fraternally is connected with the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Junior Order United American Mechanics.

William H. Talbott, one of the oldest members of the Rockville Bar, died yesterday at the Rockville home of his son, W.

A native of Montgomery County, Mr. Talbott was attorney for the First National Bank of Gaithersburg for many years. Surviving are his son an a daughter, Mrs. Walter Ellison, who lives near Waynesboro, Va.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow at his son’s home, at 122 South Van Buren Street. Burial will be in Rockville Union Cemetery.
