Mrs. Elizabeth Spencer, wife of Thomas C.Spencer, died in her home five miles southwest of Decatur, at 1:40 Monday morning following two weeks illness of pneumonia.
Mrs. Spender, who before her marriage was Elizabeth Cairns, was born Jersey count y, Sept 22, 1858. She was married to Benjamin Burris, who died about 30 years ago, and she was married to Mr. Spencer in June of 1905. They have lived in or near Decatur since that time.
Besides her husband, she leaves six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Lyle, Pysol; three brothers, Zan Cairns and Ed Cairns of Brighton and Charles Cairns of Alton.
She had been a member of Salem Baptist church and funeral services will be conducted there at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be in Fairlawn cemetery.
