Aged Man's Body Found
SOLDIER S GROVE, Wis.—(Special)— Elijah Phillips, about 87, was found dead on the banks of Trout creek Sunday three miles southeast of Soldiers Grove. A physician said he believed he died some time Saturday.
Phillips' clothes were still damp, and it is surmised he had fallen into the creek, but managed to crawl out again before he died. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Phillips, who lived alone, was last seen alive Saturday morning by George Bee, rural mail carrier, who had delivered Phillips' pension check to him. Bee was squirrel hunting Sunday when he found the body. Bee's farm adjoins the Phillips' property.
The body is at the Chitwood Funeral home, Soldiers Grove.
