George is the Grandson of Mary Margaret Wade (FAG#41002493) and Thomas M. Adkins (FAG#97020395). He was the fourth child born to Reuben G. (Burial site unknown) and Mary Elizabeth Starnes Adkins (FAG#25095715).
His siblings are Thomas Morgan (67569533), Elvira May (20770300), Corrilla Gertrude (Born 20 Jan 1863), Catherine Elizabeth (250957161), Mary Caroline (91595358) and Maria Antonett (63488308).
George's father, Reuben, died in 1878 and the family is displaced in history for several years. However, George is found to have served as a Private in Co. H., Third Regiment of the U.S. Calvary Volunteer in the short lived Spanish American War from 11 May 1898 to 8 Sep 1898.
He was found on a 1900 Census as a day laborer in Seattle City, King County, Washington.
On the 1910 Census, he was working in Kircher, Custer County, Montana.
At the age of 65, George married Anna S. Haugen, 4 Mar 1930 in Miles City, Custer County, Montana.
3 April 1930 Census finds George with wife and step daughter, Fern Elizabeth Adkins, born 1920, in Custer County, Montana.
George died 7 Apr 1933. An application for a veteran Headstone was made by A. C. Schrumpt adm. applicant on 17 April 1934.
