Woodrow W. Arnold, 32, West Larkin Street, Athens, died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday night about 7 o'clock in Dallas, where he had been employed at a fruit stand for about three weeks, shortly before he was to have boarded a bus for this city.
It was reported here that he had stopped at a fire station to pass away the time before the bus was to leave from a depot nearby, and was stricken while at the fire station. He died before physicians arrived.
Mr. Arnold was born on October 12, 1914, in Arkansas, had resided in Athens for about 15 years, and was engaged in farming while residing here. His wife and children were still residing in Athens when he died.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Roy, Arthur and Roger Arnold; one daughter, Marie Arnold; parents, Mr. and Mrs. N.T. Arnold of Athens; two brothers, L.R. Arnold of Athens and Roy Lee Arnold of Dallas; and four sisters, Mrs. Ella Weatherford and Mrs. Bessie Gartman, both of Seagoville, and Mrs. Hester Covey and Mrs. Tressie Daniels, both of Athens.
The body was brought overland to Athens Monday by the Carroll & Lehr Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Holly Springs Church, with the Rev. John Duckett of Athens officiating. Interment was in the Holly Springs Cemetery.
