KREITZBURG 31 Jan 1940

Frostburg- John W. Kreitzburg, 65, Clarysville, died last night after being seriously ill for two weeks. Mr Kreitzburg, a son of the late John and Mary (Buskey) Kreitzburg; a native of Eckhart, was well known throughout the county. For years prior to prohibition, he owned and operated a saloon at Zihlman. He later worked as a superintendent of the Consolidated Big Vein Coal Company. A number of years ago he went into the garage business and owned and operated the Clarysville Garage until eleven years ago when he was stricken by paralysis. He was an ardent baseball fan, a member of the Frostburg Aerie No. 1273, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Frostburg Lodge No 248, Loyal Order of Moose. His genial personality earned him a host of friends from all sections of the county. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Sarah Porter; three daughters, Hazel and Virginia Lee, at home; and Mrs James Bone-Frostburg; and two sons; William-Cumberland and John Jr.-Frostburg. He was a brother of Mrs Julia Dickel-Zihlman. Services will be held Saturday from the residence. Rev. I F Kracke, pastor Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church officiating. Interment will be in the family plot of the Porter Cemetery, Eckhart.
