SHERMAN - A Celebration of Life for Louise R. Crockett, 79, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Jack Crockett, nephew, will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m., at Waldo Funeral Home.
Louise was born September 10, 1932 in Mayo, South Carolina to John and Beulah Merrill and went into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Sherman. Louise was a graduate of Wesleyan Methodist College in South Carolina. She married the love of her life, Cecil R. Crockett, on January 11, 1953 in the Fairview Baptist Church, Sherman. Louise worked as a real estate agent at Tom Willis Realty for twenty-one years. She was a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at WNJ Hospital and of the Fairview Baptist Church. Louise loved to sew and spend time traveling in many countries. Her greatest joy was being with her family and best friends, Carol Stone and Imanelle Howell.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, and nine siblings.
She is survived by her loving husband, Cecil, of the Sherman home, sons, Kenneth Crockett and wife Maureen of Austin,Texas, Steven Crockett of Stuart, Florida, and wife Rebecca, of Royal Palm Beach, daughter, Tonya Pitts of Sherman, grandchildren, Ashley Elliott of Arlington, Texas, Tyler Pitts and girlfriend Chey Barton of Sherman, Matthew Crockett of Florida, Nicholas, Clarissa, and Mia Crockett of Austin, adopted grandchildren, Michael Barnhart Jr., Blake Fullenwider, Cruz Hernandez, and Kenyon West all of Sherman, Jesse Franks of Howe, Texas, Danielle Herrera of Florida, and John Barber of Denison, a great-grandchild, Alexis Elliott-Hale of Frisco, Texas, brother, Isaac Merrill of South Carolina, sisters, Ruth Haycock of Oregon, and Grace Prince of Georgia, special niece, Paula Prince Barnes of Georgia, and best friends, Carol Stone of Whitesboro, and Imanelle Howell of Sherman.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Pitts, Blake Fullenwider, Michael Barnhart Jr., Cruz Hernandez, Jesse Franks, and John Barber.
She often quoted as saying, "Every cloud has a silver lining".
