In 1860, David and Mary lived in Michigan, but returned to PA before the birth of their 2 youngest sons in the late 1860's. D A Hudson died unexpectedly in Kansas in 1879; and Mary was in Clarion County, PA in 1880 near all of her children
She later moved to Washington Co near her daughter Sarah Spencer. The 1910 Census showed Mary as a 74 year old widow in Monongahela, Washington, Pennsylvania and notes she had 5 living of 6 children. These 5 are mentioned by name in her obituary.

At her home in Parkinson Street, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, occurred the death of May (sic -Mary) Hudson. Death was due to paralysis, with which the deceased had suffered but a few days, having been taken ill suddenly last Friday. The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning ate o'clock from Grace Lutheran Church. The interment will be made in the Monongahela Cemetery.
Mrs. Hudson was born near Allegheny 77 years ago. She came to Monongahela about 12 years ago, where she has made her home since. She was a woman who enjoyed a large circle of friends and her sudden death is the occasion of deepest regret to all who knew her.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. William E Spencer of this city, Mrs. Andrew Chumley of Williamstown, WV and Mrs. Lou Quinn of Pittsburgh and two sons, Edward M Hudson (sic -Edmund) of Sisterville WV, and Albert Hudson of California State.
