Tecumseh was a son of Adam & Nancy Howell Millar. He married Virginia "Jennie" Weigand on Nov. 26, 1874, but she passed away in August 1876, two months after the death of their infant daughter Jennie. Tecumseh married Lucy Stage on Feb. 5, 1879, and had two children from this marriage - Hattie Millar Foresman and Adam T. Millar. Tecumseh continued the successful trade of farming and horse breeding that he had learned from his father, but in 1898 he and Lucy moved from the family homestead in Harrison Township and settled in Circleville.
