Abbie Lou Acord of Aledo, passed away March 24, 2012 in Aledo. She was born to George Benjamin & Tolura (Elsworth) Acord on December 11, 1956 in the Mercer County Hospital.
Abbie graduated from Aledo High School in 1975. She attended Illinois Wesleyan University, Illinois State University and was a graduate of American Institute of Commerce. After working as a legal secretary in the Quad Cities, she moved to Denver, Colorado and continued her extended career as an Administrative Legal Secretary.
Abbie is survived by her sisters: Pam (Bill) Bird of Auburn, Illinois and Susan (George) Ewing of Seaton, Illinois; Nieces and Nephews: Matt Ewing, Bill Bird, Missy Knight, Laura Eaker and Britt Hagens; and great nieces and nephews: Will Bird, Dub Knight, Grace Bird, Cooper Eaker, Jake Ewing, Cord Knight, Andy Bird, Benji Eaker, Isabel Ewing, Dani Hagens, Sami Eaker and Ellie Knight. Abbie also leaves many good and loyal friends.
Visitation for Abbie was Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home, with Memorial Services following at 12:00 Noon, with Pastor Kevin Pauley officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Mercer County Food Pantry.
