CROSS PLAINS - Leonard F. Ziegler, age 82, of Cross Plains, went home to the Lord on Friday, March 23, 2012, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on Dec. 3, 1929, in Ashton, the son of Frank X. and Adeline (Ripp) Ziegler. Leonard married the love of his life, Elaine Statz on May 1, 1952, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Dane. He was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Cross Plains and was a part of the group that helped rebuild the church after its fire in the early 1970s. Leonard had a great passion for farming and worked as a farmer his entire life. He was a former grand knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 3924 and also was a delegate for the Wisconsin Dairies Co-op. The most important things to Leonard were his faith, family and farming.
Leonard was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Ziegler; parents; brother, Clarence (Betty) Ziegler and Jerome Ziegler.
Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery.
