Claude was born in San Angelo, Texas. The family moved to Wilcox, Az. in 1911. Later they moved to Benson, there he married Nina Louise Harwood in 1920. They moved to Wickenburg, Arizona. In 1945 they moved to California. Nina died in 1952 in Riverside, California. They raised five children Robert, William, John, Frances, and Joanne.
