Deceased was born Feb. 28, 1824. in Oxford county. Maine, and was therefore in her eightieth year. Her maiden name was Arabella Rawson Holmes. In 1851 she was married to Mr. Bent. They came to Oshkosh In 1856 and lived here most of the time ever since.

Her husband dealt in lumber, pine lands and real estate. He built the present Bent block, corner of Main and Merritt streets in 1866. For the past number of years he has been retired and is now so feeble that he is confined to the house a great deal. Mrs. Bent was always active and vigorous until about three years ago when she first became ill.
