Miss Escher was born Nov. 8, 1914 in Kiel, daughter of the late Peter and Katherine (nee Burg) Escher. She attended SS Peter & Paul Grade School. Irene was a homemaker all her life and was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz.
Survivors include her nieces and nephew: Ione Rausch of Chilton; Robert (Jeanne) Krupp of Chilton; Arlene (Wilfred) Anhalt of Marytown; Bernice Baer of Manitowoc; and Peggy Baer of New Holstein.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Alvina Sukawaty, Julia Baer and Viola Krupp; and four nephews: Norbert Rausch, LeRoy Krupp, Art Baer and James Baer.
Funeral services will be held at Meisewleitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel, with the Rev. Gregory Coulthard S.D.S. officiating. Burial will take place at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery.
