Mrs. J. C. Baird (Mary Atwell), born in Scrubgrass township, June 7, 1879, died at her home in Clintonville October 13, 1915. Daughter of Olive Perry Atwell and late John B. Atwell. Death came suddenly, taken slightly ill Monday evening. Doctor called, but no alarm felt. Noon Tuesday a decided change for worse... passed away 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. Was teacher of Venango county for six years, having taught in her home township and in Siverly, now part of Oil City. Graduate of Edinboro State Normal class of 1902.... Leaves husband, mother and brothers and sisters: James M. Atwell, Coalinga, Cal.; Floyd Atwell, New Brighton; F. L. and D. P. Atwell of Lisbon, Mrs. Anna Lockard, Ben Avon; Mrs. Harriet Sutton, Franklin, and Misses Lottie and Susan Atwell of Emlenton. Presbyterian church of Clintonville.... Services in this church on Friday afternoon at 1:30 by pastor, Rev. C. O. Anderson, assisted by Rev. E. A. Campbell of U. P. church.
