DANIEL C. GROBBEL A member of the Detroit Water Board for more than 40 years prior to his retirement in 1940, Mr. Grobbel, 78, died Friday at his home, 2617 Montclair.
A native of Detroit and graduate of the Detroit College, Mr. Grobbel was senior administrative assistant of the Water Board at the time of his retirement. He was a member of the Detroit Council, Knights of Columbus No. 305, a 50-year member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, and an Elk. Mr. Grobbei is survived by his wife, Annie.
Services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Verheyden Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rose Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Grobbel Jr. - a lawyer with offices in the Hammond Building and later the Buhl Building; he was a Detroit City Assessor and in 1928 he was the Secretary of the Board of Commissioners for the Detroit Water Department.
