She was born on Dawson's Creek near the Neuse River and was the daughter of Capt. Amos Wade and Hannah Shine, his wife. Amos Wade and Hannah Shine were married in Craven County on 9 Sept 1789. On the 15th December, 1811, she married John Williams Guion in New Bern, NC. Mary Wade Guion died at the early age of 28 yrs. 6 mos. and 2 days. From Sailing Upwind.
