Obituary - Simon Martin Austinson was born July 19, 1876 at Clear Lake, WIsconsin and died October 3, 1929, at the age of 53 years, 2 months and 14 days. At the age of four year his mother died and he was taken into the home of Carl Felland, of Stoughton, where he grew to manhood. When twenty years old he moved to Iowa and resided in Winnebago county and made his home with his sister, Mrs. Ole Lovick.
He was united in marriage to Clara Matilda Thompson, of Winnebago County, March 19, 1901. (at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Leland, IA) To this union three children were born.
He is survived by his wife, one son, Orville of Clayton; and two daughters, Esther and Myrtle; one adopted daughter, Gertie Monson; one grandchild, Clifton DuWayne; two brother, Jack and Oscar, of Clayton; one sister, Mrs. Lawrence Anderson of Forest City, Iowa; three half brothers, Olaf of Buffalo, MN, Ed in the Navy, John of Clayton; one half sister, Annie, of California; and many other relatives and kind friends.
His parents and one sister preceded him in death. He and his family moved to Clear Lake March 2, 1929 and at the time of his death were residing on a farm north of Clear Lake. His death came as a result of injuries of the spine which was received from a fall at the Clear Lake creamery while doing carpenter work.
Funeral service were held Saturday afternoon at the Moe church. He was laid to rest by the side of his father and mother.
