James Pendergist, age 95, of Omaha, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at his home. He was born on June 13, 1916, in McCrory, Arkansas, the son of Jim and Flora (Porter) Pendergist. Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Syble; two daughters; and a son.

James was of the Southern Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marines in the 5th Armored Division, having served during World War II. James was a member of the DAV. He was an avid fisherman.

James is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, John and Polly Pendergist and James Pendergist; his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ron Tucker; twenty grandchildren; thirty one great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and many dear friends.

Interment was in Woodman of the World Cemetery located in McCrory, Arkansas.

Memorial service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
