Howard Maxwell
Howard E. Maxwell, 98, of Kirkwood, Ill., died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
Born Aug. 21, 1905, in Galesburg, Ill., he was he son of Henry and Florence Love Maxwell. On Dec. 22, 1928, he married M. Louise Clark in Monmouth, Ill. She died May 10, 2001.
Mr. Maxwell was a grain and livestock farmer in Henderson County, Ill., all of his life.
He was raised and educated in the Kirkwood, Ill., rural area, where he attended Hazel Del School. He loved all wildlife and fed many near his rural home. He was a member of Biggsville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Henry L. Maxwell of Naperville, Ill.; two grandsons; three great–grandchildren; and one nephew.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
There is no visitation or calling hours.
The graveside service for Mr. Maxwell will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Biggsville Cemetery, with the Rev. Carol Stufflebeam officiating.
A memorial has been established for Biggsville United Methodist Church.
Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth is in charge of arrangements.
