Sumner Kent Stewart, 72, died Wednesday at his home in Santa Clara, Utah.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Alamo and was a former longtime resident of Las Vegas. He was a scout leader, a former scoutmaster and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey of Santa Clara; sons, Gregory, Gary and Grant; brothers, Thomas and Evan; sisters, Helen Law, Beverly Hope and Marguerite Yarbrough; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Local graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Metcalf Mortuary, St. George, Utah, handled arrangements.
