His father died before 1853, The Bock family then decided to go to America.

Ferdinand G. came to America in 1854 on the ship "Roland" Along with his mother, Catherine, and three siblings. Some others came later. He married Mary Wilhelmina Heidbreder in Mo. in 1859. The settled near New Woollam, Mo.
They raised Eleven Children. The photo is taken from two paintings of Ferd and wife Mary...Gattin Von before the name just means spouse of..not part of their name
