Vernie Lee Young Boyd, 74, of 127 Boyden Court died at 4:45 a.m. today at Ephraim McDowell Memorial in Boyle County. She was the widow of William Bryan Boyd and a member of Southern Avenue Baptist Church. Born in Lincoln County on May 24, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Abner and Lucy Young. Survivors include five sons,Woodrow Boyd of Pittsburgh, Pa, Ralph Boyd of Danville, Kenneth Boyd of Harrodsburg, and Raymond Eugene of Tampa, Fla., and Randal Boyd of Clearview, Fla.; five daughters, Frances Wine of Harrodsburg, Opal Brown of Junction City, Doris Ballard and Virginia both of Bryantsville, and Christine Lee of Cincinnati; three sisters, Mrs. Herbert (Irene) Boyd of Danville, Mrs. Luke (Gertrude) Maulcahey and Virginia Conaster, both of Nicholasville; 39 grand children ; and 29 great grandchildren.Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville.
