MRS. ELLIS JOHNSON DIES HERE TODAY
Mrs. Susan Baker Johnson, 57, died at 9:45 am today at Jennie Stuart Hospital, where she had been admitted only 14 hours earlier.
Services will be at 2 pm Sunday at Johnson's Chapel Methodist Church near Kirkmansville.
Officiating will be the Rev. Draper Carver, Johnson's Chapel pastor, assisted by the Rev. Richard Tapscott, pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Johnson's Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson, who lived near Kirkmansville, was born in Christian County, the daughter of John Thomas and Martha Hogan Baker. She was a member of Johnson's Chapel Church.
Survivng are your husband, Ellis W Johnson; three sons, Frank Johnson, of the Lacy community; William Johnson, Red Bridge community, and Lloyd Johnson, Lone Star community; three daughters, Mrs. Alberta Jones, Williamsport, Ind.; Mrs. Claris Carpenter, Hopkinsville Route 2, and Mrs. Opal Meacham, of the Lacy community; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Winsett, Sharon Grove and Mrs. Eunice Wells, of the city; and 25 grandchildren.
The body is at Fuqua Funeral Home.
