Benjamin Calvin, son of James K. and Ellen Wright Finney, was born in Jasper county, Ill., November 12, 1864, and departed this life August 4, 1932, at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 23 days.

On account of the death of his mother when Calvin was three months old, and of his father, three years later, his boyhood and early manhood were spent at the home of his granfather, Damon Finney.

He was united in marriage with Nevada A. Shadley, daughter of Wm. F. and Katherine Shadley, on October 29, 1893, to which union were born twin sons, Ernese and Earl, the former having died in infancy.

The entire married life of Mr. and Mrs. Finney was spent at the family home, built shortly before their marriage, and within on-half mile of their childhood homes.

Surviving the deceased are the widow, a son, Earl, of Marshall, and a step-son, Rex Shadley, of Effingham.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the reidence, with interment in Casey cemetery.
