Eleanor J. Kerestes, age 66, of rural Boyceville, died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998 at her home.
Eleanor was born March 14, 1931 in Steator, IL, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Malik) Leis.
One of four children, Eleanor was baptized in t he name of the Triune God, Oct. 8, 1931 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Streator, IL, and became a member of Christ's holy church. She confirmed her baptismal vows in the rite of confirmation at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on March 25, 1945 promising faithfulness to her Saviour unto death.
Eleanor married Louis Kerestes June 17, 1951 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Streator, IL. She was a faithful wife and loving mother.
She accompanied her husband as they served congregations in Barrie, Ontario in 1959; Central City, PA from 1960-61; Blue Island, IL from 1961-65; and Boyceville and Connorsville from 1965-present.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Eleanor.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Louis Kerestes of Boyceville, four daughters: Elizabeth Lohfink and husband Tom of Downing, Emily Oslund and husband Gerald of Lindstrum, MN; Evangeline Mathe and husband Charles of Mukwonago and Esther Johnston and husband Lonnie of Emerald.
Also, nine grandchildren and one step-granddaughter, two great grandchildren, three sisters: Gladys Harris and husband Woodrow of Rohnert, CA, Delores Hilton of Rancho Mirage, CA, and Lillian Hinds of Joliet, IL.
She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, 1998 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in the Town of Tiffany with Reverend Paul Weigert officiating.
Spring interment will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Connorsville.
Friends may call at the Everts Funeral Home in Glenwood City on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
