Edward Herman Bandlow, 89, a lifelong Richmond resident died Saturday afternoon September 28, 2002 at Romeo Continuing Care, Romeo. He was born September 19, 1913 in Richmond the son of the former Edward and Emma (Murchel) Bandlow of German ancestry.

He was baptized and confirmed at St Peter Lutheran Church in Richmond.

He is a 1932 graduate of Richmond High School.

He and Viola Krause were married September 18, 1943 in Richmond, at St Peter Lutheran Church.

Edward was an employee of 25 years for the former Macomb Consumers Co-op, Richmond and retired in 1979 following 12 years as custodian with Richmond School District.

He is a lifetime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Richmond, served as Superintendent of Sunday School, usher, Elder and member of its school board.

He was an officer in Belle River Credit Union, Richmond, and served as toastmaster for many events.

Surviving in addition to his wife Viola of 59 years are a son and daughter-in-law, Neal and Carol Bandlow of Fort Gratiot and two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Rodney DeLaney of Columbus and Linda and Daniel McIntyre of Richmond; his grandchildren, Dana Paehlig, Daren Delaney, Lindsay and Kyle McIntyre and Nicole Bandlow and great-granddaughter Emma Jayne Coy.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Deena DeLaney and six siblings, Norman, Edna Dittman, Minnie Eppler, Viola Lieberenz and Margaret Hahn.

Visitation for family and friends was held Monday, September 30th, from 7-9:00 P.M. and Tuesday, October 1st 3-8:00 P.M. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond.

Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 2nd, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Richmond with 10:00 A.M. visiting.

Burial followed in Richmond Cemetery. Rev. Gerhardt Doroh, pastor, officiated.

Pallbearers were Don Hahn, Robert Dittman, Kyle McIntyre, Daren Delaney, Ed Paehlig and Billy Schroeder.

Memorials are suggested to Will L. Lee Elementary School Library fund or Richmond High School Athletics.
