Hazel Irene Bailey Bland, 87, formerly of 813 E. Kay Street, died at 9:40 pm Friday, February 16, 1996 at Morton Terrace (Morton, Illinois).

Born June 19, 1908, in Clark County to Balsom M. and Martha A. Misner Bailey, she married Dolph Bland on August 1, 1928. He died September 7, 1990. One son (David L. Bland), four brothers (Charles Clemont Bailey, Riley Corbett Bailey, Ray Everett Bailey, and Robert Herman Bailey), three sisters (Lillie Adeline Bailey Stacey, Lela Ann "Tine" Bailey Locke, Dorothy Susie Bailey Bland, and Hattie Eleanora Bailey)and two grandsons (Scott Vermillion and Randy Smith) also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Charles of Cisne and Dolph Jr. of Cobden; four daughters, Mrs. Leon (Ruth) Peters of Decatur, Mrs. Loren (Anita) Smith of Atwood, Norma Frye of Metamora and Mrs. William (Lily) Vermillion of Morton; one brother, Harley Lawrence Bailey of Springfield; one sister, Nellie Mae Bailey Matthews of Forest City; 22 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

She attended Grace Evangelical Mennonite Church in Morton.

Services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday February 20, 1996 at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home. The Reverend Earl Cecil will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 2 pm Tuesday at Forest City Cemetery in Forest City.

Memorials may be made to Grace Evangelical Mennonite Church or to We Care Inc. in Morton.
