Donald G. Newlin, 62, of Scottdale, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009, in Hempfield Manor. He was born Dec. 24, 1946, in Scottdale, a son of Esther (Pritts) Newlin, of Scottdale, and the late Herbert Newlin. Don was a graduate of the former Scottdale High School Class of 1964 and received his associate degree in Agri-Business from Penn State University. Over the years, he was employed by Pritts Feed Mills, Newlin Hardware and the Regional Family YMCA. He was a veteran of the Army during the Vietnam era in the helicopter division. Don was also a member of First United Church of Christ, Mt. Pleasant. Fond memories of Don will be remembered by his surviving family, his wife, Rebecca "Becky" (Kaczmark) Newlin; his daughter, Dana Newlin, of Mt. Pleasant; his mother, Esther Newlin, of Scottdale; a brother, David Newlin and wife, Janice, of Brandon, Fla.; a niece, Dr. Heather Newlin; nephew, David E. Newlin; aunts, Harriet Newlin, of Harrisburg, and Dorothy Coffman, of Mt. Pleasant, and many cousins. Don was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Newlin, Nov. 28, 2002.
