Beverly Ankenbauer, 81, Kenmare, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Beverly Jean Hagerud was born March 30, 1930, a daughter of Bennie and Martha (Egger) Hagerud, in Kenmare. She was raised and educated in the Coulee/Kenmare areas, and graduated from Kenmare High School in 1948.

Bev married Sylvester W. "Sonny" Ankenbauer Aug. 20, 1948, in Williston. They made their home in Coulee, where they owned and operated Sonny's Bar and Ankenbauer Construction for several years. In the early 1970s, they moved to Kenmare, where Bev started her own upholstery business, Bev's Upholstery, which she owned and operated until retiring in the late 1980s.

Sonny passed away Feb. 10, 1999. Following her husband's death, she continued to reside in Kenmare.

Sonny and Bev were members of the Good Sam RV Club. They enjoyed traveling around and meeting up with old and new friends. Bev liked to fish and play card games. She was a member of the North Gate Sportsman Club.

Bev was a caregiver. If a family member or friend needed help she was there to do whatever she could for them. She had no children of her own, but was a super aunt and sister.

Surviving family includes: sisters, Coleen (Donald "Skip") Erickson, Kenmare, Marlys (Russell) Anderson, Kenmare, Janice "Kitty" Dill, Minot, and Carolyn (Dale) Anderson, Chandler, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Terri Hoskin and Tawny Quist.
