Olive (Petsinger) Hansen, 99, of Kittanning, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Armstrong County Health Center. She was born Nov. 16, 1912, in Plumcreek Township, a daughter of the late W. Albert Petsinger and Nettie (Wingard) Petsinger and she was a lifelong resident of the area. A homemaker, Olive was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Kittanning, where she was a Sunday school teacher, and a former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Kittanning. She liked gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Olive is survived by her son, Thomas C. (Janice) Walker, of Clearfield, Utah; daughter, Helen L. (Charles) Thomas, of Kittanning; granddaughters, Susan (Brian) Branson, of Colorado, Karen Larsen, of Utah, and Carol A. (Shon) Mechling, of Kittanning; grandsons, Thomas A. (Toni) Walker, of Alaska, Timothy G. (Kay) Thomas, of Ford City, and Robert M. Thomas, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 12 great-grandchildren, Jeremy Belt, Nicholas Larsen, Christopher Larsen, Barrett Branson, Tom Walker, Tara Walker, Jennifer Galcik, Jacob Thomas, Margaret Claypoole, Sarah Thomas, Nicholas Mechling and Caleb Mechling; nine great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Mildred Noble, of Norristown. In addition to her parents, Olive was preceded in death by her husband, Willard "Bill" Hansen, who passed away Nov. 17, 1995; two brothers, Harold and Walter Petsinger; and two sisters, Laurabelle Kerner and Margaret Klingensmith. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the KENNEDY AND BLODGETT FUNERAL HOME in Kittanning with additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dana Wilmot officiating. Interment at Lawn Haven Burial Estates. Memorial contributions may be made in Olive's honor to Grace Presbyterian Church in Kittanning.
