Sister of Mrs. Paul Hanson Died

Mrs. Wilmina (Blackwell) Hawley, sister of Mrs. Paul W. Hanson, of Sauk Centre, died at Rochester on Friday, February 2, 1940, it was reported here this week.

She was buried at Sandstone Monday.

Mrs. Hawley was 31 years old, and much of the past four years she had spent in the Mayo Institution. She was able to be with Mrs. Hanson here in Sauk Centre last Christmas and had made other visits to the city. During her illness, preceding her death, Mrs. Hanson made many trips to the bedside of her sister in Rochester.

Mrs. Hawley is survived by a four-year-old daughter, her husband, her parents, and eight brothers and sisters. Dr. and Mrs. Hanson attended funeral services held for her Monday.

Young Sandstone Mother Is Called - Mrs. Gordon Hawley's Long Illness is Ended by Death Friday

Death terminated the long illness of Mrs. Gordon Hawley in the full bloom of life at a Rochester hospital on Friday. The cause was internal cancer for which she had had several operations.

She was 31 years of age, Mrs. Hawley (Wilmina Lucille Blackwell) was born in Alexandria, Oct. 5, 1908, one of a family of 10 children. Her parents now reside at Lowry.

After being educated in St. Cloud State Teachers college, she taught school in Sandstone for three years.

On June 20, 1934, she was united in marriage to Gordon Hawley, after which she and her husband went to make their home in Washington, D. C. In 1936, they returned to Sandstone where Mr. Hawley has since managed the Hawley Motor Co.

The deceased was a member of St. Willibrords Catholic Church in Sandstone from which church the funeral was held with Father Peter officiating at Requiem High Mass.

Mrs. Hawley is survived by her husband and one daughter, Sharon, besides her parents, eight sisters and brothers. A large circle of friends joined in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
