Helen M. Robins, 320 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Webb City, Missouri, died last Friday [March 17, 1989] at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri after a brief illness. She was 70.

Mrs. Robins was born in Golden City, Missouri to Edward and Edna (Watts) Mammen. She was the first homecoming queen at Webb City High School in 1935. She was the personal secretary to Russell Stover. She was co-owner of Joplin Inventory Service. She was a member of First Christian Church of Webb City.

Her husband, Robert E. Robins, died May 7, 1970.

Survivors include two sons, Dallas Robins, of the home, and Jim Robins, Fort Scott, Kansas; three daughters, Marti Pittman, Webb City, Missouri, Barbara Schell, Webb City, Missouri, Roberta Potter, Arlington, Texas; a sister, Jeanne Manes, Burkburnett, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.

Services were held Monday at Central United Methodist Church of Webb City. The Rev. James West officiated, with eulogy by the family. Burial was in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ben Fenske, Paul Fenske, Ernie Goad, Charles Pittman, Merrill Potter and Rusty Schell.

A scholarship for homecoming queens has been set up in Mrs. Robins honor at the Webb City R-7 schools. Contributions may be made through Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
