Evelyn Jean John, 56, of Kittanning, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 14, 1951, in Butler, daughter of Walter E. Mechling and Dora Booher Shields Mechling, of Kittanning. She was a lifelong resident of the Kittanning area and was a member of Center Hill Church. She loved bingo, yard sales, lottery tickets and spending time with her family. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Dennis R. John, whom she married Nov. 17, 1990; son, Daniel F. (Desiree) Cunningham Jr., of Kittanning; two daughters, Karen (William) Brumbaugh and Bobbie Jo (Timothy) Crytzer, both of Kittanning; three brothers, Michael E. Booher, Walter Mechling and Larry Booher, all of Kittanning; sister, Sarah Stover, of Worthington; half sisters, Sis and Maime; 13 grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Della Shields and Denise Shields. Family and friends will be received from noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. at MANTINI FUNERAL HOME, Ford City, where Dr. Wes Berkebile will officiate.
