DIED - At his residence, near this village, on Friday the 24th inst., Capt. William Baldwin, in the 75th year of his age. Capt. B. was one of the earliest settlers of this county. He located himself in this town about fifty-five years ago (Elmira Gazette, Elmira, New York, Thursday, June 30, 1842).

From an 1875 and 1932 transcription. Removed from the Old Baptist Cemetery when it was closed to create a park.
