Don Singleton 71, a native of Boone County, passed away Monday morning, June 4, 2007, at Boone Hospital Center.

Funeral services in Columbia will be at 1p.m. Thursday June 7, with burial immediately following in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitaton will be from 5-8p,m, Wednesday at Parker Funeral Service.

Don was born February 26, 1936 , the son of John and Helen Jacobs Singleton. He attended Grindstone School, Jefferson Junior Hickman High School and the University of Mo. Don worked for MFA Oil Company, then served as a banker in Columbia for more then 45 years, most recently with First National Bank. He enjoyed playing the piano and singing with his band, The Rhythm Kings, and was involved in numerous community service organizations, including, United Way, American CancerSociety, Jaycees, Little Dixie Chapter of Bank Administrators, Cosmopolitan Club and Rotary Club. Don was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Marhta Singleton, three daughters, and two sons. Susan Singleton- Carter, Brenda Singleton, Stephanie Arroyo, Randy Singleton and John Singleton. nine grandchildren,and one brother, Thomas A. Singleton of Columbia.
