David D. Everest moved with his brothers Benjamin F. and Harry Everest to Milton, Vermont by 1822. At about this time he married Permelia ____. In about 1835 he moved his family to the Lake Champlain shore village of Port Kent, Essex Co., N.Y., and in 1849-50 up the road to Keeseville. He was a carpenter and peddler, and in 1839 gave $15 toward building a Presbyterian (Congregational) church at Port Kent.
