CONSTANT J. BOUVIER, 79, of Central Street, Manville, a retired plumbing and heating contractor, and a town water commissioner, died Sunday in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket.

He was the husband of Pauline A. (Raquier) Bouvier. Born in Manville on Oct. 14, 1924, a son of the late Huges and Rose Anna (Dumas) Bouvier and stepson of the late Thomas L. Raymond, he had lived in the neighborhood all his life.

Mr. Bouvier had owned and operated C.J. Bouvier Plumbing & Heating for 40 years before retiring in 1987.

He had served the Town of Lincoln as a member of the water commission.

He was a member of the Lincoln Democratic Town Committee.

Mr. Bouvier was a communicant of St. James Church.

He was a member of the American Legion, Alphonse Yelle Post 9, and a former member of the Enrico Caruso Club, both in Manville.

He leaves two sons, Charles C. Bouvier of Los Angeles, Calif., and Denis P. Bouvier of San Francisco, Calif.; a daughter, Jacqueline D. Di Spirito of North Smithfield; and two grandsons.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. in the Menard Funeral Home, 71 Central Street, Manville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 in St. James Church, 33 Division St., Manville. Burial, with military honors, will be in the St. James Cemetery.
