Dies at Home on East Side on Friday Evening
Mrs. William H. Gleason passed away at 7:15 o'clock Friday evening at her home 805 South Third Street after a prolonged illness.
The funeral services for Mrs. W. H. Gleason were held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Michael's church. High Mass being sung by Most Rev F. Kaufman who also delivered an eloquent sermon.
Mrs. Gleason has been a life long resident of Galena and will be keenly missed in the community. She is survived by her husband, W.H. Gleason, a daughter, Mrs. Em. M. Peterson, of Milwaukee, Wis., and two sons, Richard H. and Philip J. of Chicago, seven grandchildren, two sisters, Miss Jennie Rooney of this city, and Mrs. J.A. Stierman of Milwaukee Wis. and one brother, Daniel A. Rooney of Madison Wisconsin.
Those attending the funeral from out of town were the follow: Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Rooney and Miss Helen Rooney of Madison, Wis., Mr. J. A. Steirman and daughter Mrs. D. A. Cummings and family of Wauwatora, Wis., W. M. Gleason of Fon Du Lac, Wis., T. J. McCarthy and family of Benton, John DeRocher and sister of Shullsburg, Miss Mary Rooney and Messrs. Emmett and W.m Rooney, J. McGrave, D. McGrave of Leadmine, Wis., Mr. D. W. Swift, Hazel Green.
Mrs. Gleason was a member of St. Clara's Court, W.C. O. F. of Dubuque, IA., which was represented at the funeral by Mrs. Catherine Fosselman and Mrs. Anna Mever of that city.
Interment was made in St. Michael's cemetery.
