Eldest Son Of William & Mary (Norton) Hensel; Born in the city of Lancaster,Pa. He moved with his parents, to Darlington, (Harford Co.) Maryland, when he was an infant. At age 14 years, he left Darlington; and walked 14 miles to Quarryville,(Lancaster Co.) Pa. worked in the local Hardware store. After working several years in the store, He purchased the business, and it became Hensel Hardware Of Quarryville,Pa.It was not only a place of business, but also it was a gathering place for discussing politics of the day. Mr. Hensel married Anna Uhler, and had 6 children. Mr. Hensel died in his 69th year, and is buried alongside his wife in the Quarryville Cemetery.
