After a lengthy illness, Michael Jay Wennerholt, 56, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the care of Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient.

Born December 17, 1955 in Lancaster County, the son of Mary R. (Bair) Auman and the stepson of the late James E. Auman Sr., he was a graduate of Reading High School.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Jill (Tully) Wennerholt, are daughters, Tanya Wennerholt, Reading and Devon Schaffer (Jeremy), Emmaus. There are also eight grandchildren.

Other survivors include siblings, Lewis Wennerholt III of Mountville; Jacqueline Wert, Womelsdorf; Patricia Gatto, Stony Creek; Diane Poiletmen, Columbia, SC; James Auman Jr., Bernville; Mark Auman, Philadelphia and Anita Agusta, Womelsdorf.

There are also numerous nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by his father, Lewis Wennerholt II.

Michael selflessly donated his body to the University of Pennsylvania.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 17th, at 2 PM at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith, 225 Elm Street, Emmaus, PA 18049.
