Grenada, Calif. — Longtime Siskiyou County resident Stanley Ray Dancer passed away on March 10, 2012 at Madrone Hospice. He was 83 years old.

Stanley was born on March 17, 1928 in Wasilla, Alaska to Ray and Alice Dancer. The family moved to Nebraska when Stan was two, then they moved to Oregon when he was 17. Stan graduated from Camas Valley High School. In 1950, Stan married Melva Packard in Dillard, Ore. In 1956 the family moved to Siskiyou County, where Stan opened and operated the Siskiyou Pellet Mill in Grenada in 1957, which he operated until his death.

Stan is survived by three children, Larry Dancer and his wife Leanna of Grenada, Stan Dancer and his wife Susan of Grand Island, Neb. and Elaine Dickinson and her husband Kevin of Yreka; three brothers, Waldo, Jerry and Raymond Dancer; three sisters, Maxine Looney, Millie Horner and Judy Brown; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers Frank and Pete Dancer, his wife Melva and his daughter Glenda Kay.
By Stan's request, the family will be having a private graveside service in Winston, Ore., where he will be inurned with his wife and daughter. The family thanks his many friends for respecting Stan's wishes.
