Robert Loring Griswold Jr., a loving husband, father and friend, passed away in his sleep on March 13, 2012 at the age of 92.

"Bob" was born on May 17, 1919. Bob and his wife Pat moved to Yreka in August 2011 from Eugene, Ore. to be closer to their daughter Ann Whipple and her husband Dean. They were residents of Eugene for 60-plus years.

Bob was a WW II Air Force veteran and served as an instrument flight trainer out of Bryan AFB, Texas. He graduated from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore. with a degree in business administration and went on to spend the majority of his working career as a bookkeeper/office manager in the lumber industry in Eugene.
He married the love of his life, Patricia, in 1942 and they were married nearly 70 years at the time of his passing. She survives. They raised two wonderful children, Ann Whipple of Yreka and Bob Griswold of Troutdale, Ore. and Apache Junction, Ariz., who also survive him. He is also survived by five grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.

Following their retirement some 30-plus years ago, Bob and Pat traveled the United States in their motorhome, and spent many happy years during Oregon's winters in the Mesa, Ariz. area and along the beautiful Oregon coast. Bob had a love of barbershop music and was a member of a Eugene-based quartet and the Eugene Gleeman chorus. He listened to barbershop music on an almost daily basis, and when together with his children, they sang many songs together which was a source of great happiness.
