Kris Wilson passed away on March 15th 2012 after a valiant battle with cancer in SLC, Utah. He was born on October 30th 1957 in Provo Utah to Larry R Wilson and Gloria McClure. Kris was a free spirit, and loved travel and adventure. He became a Class 1 navigator in the U.S. Navy where he served from 1975 to 1979. He also worked on several fishing and crab boats out of Seward and Anchorage Alaska. Kris was also known as "Mr. Million" on his website after he contacted "Ripley's Believe it or Not" for being the first person to write the numbers from one to a million.
He is preceded in death by his father Dr. Larry R. Wilson, as well as his grandparents, and his step-father Dale E Schmitt. He is survived by his mother Gloria M. Schmitt of Provo Ut., stepmother Arlene (Ron) Wilson Toone of Logan, Ut., brother Kevin (Joeen) Wilson of St. George, Ut. , sisters Kathy (Doug) Stringham of Edmonton Alberta Canada, Karla (Bryan) Taylor of Provo Ut., Konnie (Mark) McCullouch of Phoenix Az., stepbrothers Brad (Michelle) Wilson, of Kaysville Ut., Brian (Julie) Wilson of Logan Ut., Kay (Jackie) Wilson of Logan Ut., stepsister Alisa (Chris) Kearsley of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and sons Joseph Kevin Meitman of Seattle, Washington, Jacob Daniel Meitman of Seattle, Washington, and Jacob Leonard Hansen of Naples Florida, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service, and a Veterans Guard of Honor ceremony will be Held Monday March 19th at 11:00 A.M. at Camp Williams Cemetery in SLC, Utah. Arrangements are made under the direction of Premier Services, SLC, Utah.
The family wishes to express deep appreciation to the Veterans Administration of Salt Lake City, and Garden Terrace Hospice for all of their support and assistance in caring for Kris. May his free spirit now soar with the eagles.
