CHILES, BOBBIE CLARK
age 84 of Maryville, TN and formerly of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus, Friday morning, July 3, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Bobbie was the youngest daughter of the late John T. and Mildred Hitch Clark of Maryville, TN. She was a graduate of Everett High School and Carson-Newman College. She was currently a resident of Asbury Place in Maryville, TN. She was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church, Bearden, where her husband, the late Reverend Dr. Henry M. Chiles was pastor for 22 years. He preceded her in death on November 20, 2008 after 64 years of marriage. Dr. and Mrs. Chiles served as missionaries in the Northern Plains Baptist Convention for ten years and were instrumental in beginning 30 new churches in that mission area. In her retirement, she enjoyed gardening, handcrafts and fishing with her husband. Bobbie was also preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Clark Post and Helen Clark Morton. Bobbie is survived by her loving and devoted children, daughter and son in law, Ann and Lewis Ridley, son and daughter in law Lynn Clark and Jan Chiles, all of Rockford, TN; grandchildren, Lanna Edgemon and husband, Gary, Lucinda Krueger and husband, Todd, Jamie Cordes and husband Ben, Jeanna Thomas and husband, Clay; great grandchildren, Ayden, Bryce, Miles, Kate and Blake; as well as several nieces and nephews and cousins. A celebration of Bobbie's life will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Central Baptist Church, Bearden with Dr. Larry Fields, Rev. Archie Fendley and Rev. Mack Bingham officiating. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Henry and Bobbie Chiles Mission Endowment, c/o Central Baptist Church, Bearden, 6300 Deane Hill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919.
