Dessie May (Cantrell) Barker was a daughter of Truman Cantrell and Elizabeth (Callahan) Cantrell. She married Elbert W. Barker in Reydon, Roger Mills Co., Oklahoma on Nov 14, 1934, moving to California in 1940. They lived in Stockton and Lodi before settling in Lockford, California in about 1976. All three cities are in San Joaquin County.
She was a member of Grace Church in Lockford, and included sweing, quilting and handmade crafts among her enthusiastic interests. She and her husband wwere parents of five children, and by the time she passed away, she left behind 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. One grandchild had preceeded her in death.
