His surviving children immigrated to Bay City, Michigan in the mid 1860s where they decided to return to the original spelling of their last name, "Pelletier".
Buried on August 23, 1854 in the original St. Michael's churchyard cemetery on Church Street in Belleville. This cemetery no longer exists.
